Link to modculture

As part of my market research i am looking at business that work in a more handcrafted way. Part of this process is to understand ways in which i can find where i fit in within the industry. I am asking questions such as what's happening in the market? what needs are important? are the needs being met by the current products? ect.

I found a website called 'modculture' which led me to vintage dress paterns, something i am begginning to look at practicing. Part of my future goal is to design my own patterns using methods such as screen print and hand/machine stitch. I want to apply my designs onto simple shapes inspired by the city.

As i want to make one-offs and sell fashion pieces, little accessories and interior things, my market research is going to be mainly looking at boutiques and craft fairs. I need to ask questions along the way in order to get a better understanding of what it takes to become a succesful crafts person.
