Print Tank Brief

At the moment I am working in my studio gathering inspiration to help me with ideas towards the fashion prints brief.  I have been exploring flora, fauna and geometric shapes, this has involved a lot of time researching these particular subjects and drawing directly from my inspirations.  I will be going to London at the end of the month and i will be visiting Print Tank Studio's, the purpose for this trip is to speak to the designers and be informed about the Autumn/Winter collections that will be in 2009.  I am currently drawing separate elements in my sketch book, my aim is to produce 10 individual print designs making sure that any one element is only used once on each design, that's a lot of elements!

During the 'Print Tank' visit i chose to work with the Smoky and Neon theme as my colour pallet.

I have handed all of my elements into the print room ready to go onto the screen print.  I have chosen two different fabrics to work onto, the first one is silk because i think this will look really sophisticated once the patterns are applied and give the feeling of a shirt or evening top.  The second fabric is a very light cotton, i would like to apply a few of my patterns onto a nice floaty, soft fabric to give a sense of romance and elegance.

Please add questions that you are going to ask at Print Tank, you can then create an interview style entry to your blog showing your links with industry.
Also adding some images/links that are inspiring you for project, scan some of your works in progress and then your proposed designs, you are then displaying your journey to the final collection.
